March Madness

Not the kind of March Madness you are thinking, but March has been a crazy month for us so far.  Our house went on the market, our new niece/cousin was born, grandparents visited, St. Patty's Day celebrations, a Frazier birthday party...and that is just the first half of the month!

We enjoyed a St. Patrick's Day BBQ @ the Black's.  Monica served up yummy Irish nachos (seriously, the best...kettle chips, corned beef, sauerkraut, and cheese.  Bake until cheese is melted.  YUM!!) and we enjoyed good beer + great friends.

My brother welcomed another little girl to his family on March 11th - Shelby Danger Conkright.  She looks just like her big sister did when she was born (at least to me) and was about the same in length/weight.  I might be a little off, but I believe she was 9 lbs. 8 oz. and 22 in. long.  The boys got to meet her one night when we dropped Grandma + Grandpa off, but I waited awhile for them to get settled before bringing Milo + Ian over to officially meet her.

I had been telling the boys that they would get to meet her soon.  Ian was very excited!  Milo didn't have a clue really:)  So...Sunday was the big day.  We headed over in the AM for breakfast and lots of baby time.
Cousins!  No longer the 3 Amigos, but Shelby got rave reviews and I guess they will let her join the pack;)

One word:  smitten.  Ian held her for a long time.  That is until he heard the 7 helicopters fly over their house. He had to jump up and check it out.  Amazingly though, he came back to hold her again.  He just held her and talked to her.  It was the sweetest thing in the world.  Actually made me tear up.

Milo was more like I want to hold Shelby because my brother did.  He gently brushed his hand on her head and then he was done.  He had bigger + better things to do - after all, he is now the "big kid".  Ha!

I asked Peyton if she liked being a big sister and she replied, "Um, not really right now."  Speak the truth I say!  But you wouldn't know it by these pictures...so sweet.

After a few hours of snuggles + kisses, it was time to wrangle our boys and head home.  Shelby was unphased by all the action she just endured.  What a trooper!

We had to take advantage of the snow we got on Saturday.  This winter has been lame as far as snow is concerned.  Not more than a few inches and by the next day it has mostly melted, so you can't wait too long before hittin' the sledding hill or you will miss out.  We joined the Courtney's at the sledding hill by their house and had a fun afternoon!

Ella + Ian taking a ride together.

Ian was actually able to balance himself on his sled all the way down the hill.  Crazy!  I need to get this kid on a snowboard sooner rather than later.

Milo's first solo run on the sled!  I couldn't believe it.  He doesn't care for it, but he did go down a few times and every time he went by himself.  I was impressed.  I think he enjoyed himself and we were glad he finally joined in too.

Love this picture!

Milo liked going down the hill, but wasn't sure how to get back up.  Kate gave him a helping hand back up the hill - now that is the way to go!

Once he was bored with sledding, he moved onto eating snow.  Nom, nom, nom.  At least it was clean;)

After that, it was hot cocoa + cookies at the Courtney's.  A perfect end to the day!
