I'm an Aunt!

Today I gained a new title - Aunt Melissa! I am so excited. My little brother became a Daddy to a very sweet little girl. We are so excited for this new little family.

Congratulations Heather and Jon!

Proud Aunt

Happy Birthday, Grandma!

Milo and Peyton already have something in common. Peyton was born on our Mom's birthday and Milo was born on Casey's Mom's birthday. No one ever thought both Grandma's would be blessed with grandchildren on their birthdays. Pretty cool!

Things are going well here - very busy. The nights aren't too bad. Trying to settle into a routine as best we can. I dread the day Casey has to return to work and my parent's head back home. I know I will be fine, but the extra hands have been so helpful! Ian is loving Milo - he is the first person he asks about in the mornings. This morning I heard him peeking into the cradle saying, "Hi, Buddy." It brought a tear to my eye. I can't wait to see them grow up together.

Mr. Milo

My Boys
Mom and Bob taught us how to play Hand and Foot, so we have enjoyed playing cards each night before Milo wakes up for his first PM feeding. The other night he didn't want to go back to sleep - he knew he was missing out on something fun! We took turns holding him while we played cards and I couldn't resist taking a photo of Casey and Milo playing cards. Adorable!

Ian stopped by this afternoon to meet his new little brother. He was excited, until he discovered the graham crackers. Michelle - you totally called it! We are so happy to finally meet you, Milo, and cannot wait to discover all the joy you will bring our family.

Date Night

Maggie and John came over on Monday to hang out with Ian so Casey and I could celebrate one of our last nights with just one kid. Yay! It was so nice to get out and just be Casey and Melissa. We went to Ragazzi's for dinner, a local Italian restaurant in Longmont. It was okay. I've had better, but I've also had worse. The most unfortunate part was our waiter and truthfully a good waiter can make up for a lot. I would probably go back, but I am not so sure I can convince Casey to. After dinner, we went to see Dinner with Schmucks. I was excited because I had read good reviews. Plus, I love Steve Carrell and Paul Rudd. There were some funny parts, but it was also a bit disappointing. I wanted it to be more over the top and ridiculous - don't get me wrong it was both of those things at times, but it also had this warm and fuzzy piece that made me feel bad for the guy and not want to laugh at what I can only assume the writer's wanted me to think was funny. It didn't help that I could barely fit into the theater seat either, but we won't go into that now.
I was exhausted after the movie, but thankful that we got to spend the time together. Thanks Maggie and John! After the movie, Casey had to wait for me while I was in the restroom. He stumbled upon a vending machine with fake mustaches. He had to get one for Ian and I was happy to splurge the 25 cents for this priceless look on my little man's face the next morning!
