Where has this month gone?! I am excited for Fall, but sad to see Summer go. I cannot believe Milo is almost 2 months old and soon I will be returning to work. In preparation for that, I have been taking Milo to Lily's once a week for a few hours. Ian loves showing off his little brother and I get a bit of free time to run errands sans kids. A strange, but wonderful feeling. It is amazing how much faster one can get through the grocery store alone!
The boys are doing great. Ian loves getting his picture taken lately. He is always asking me to take his picture and he also asks me to take pictures of Milo. Ian put the Rockies hat on Milo while he was sleeping and said, "You need to take his picture, Mommy." Then he sat next to Milo and grabbed his blanket and asked me to take their picture together. So cute. Ian also loves to sing and dance. When we are in the car he will ask me to sing. He shouts out various words and I have to sing them. Occassionally, I can get him to join in with me. It is so much fun!
Casey has to work this whole weekend so it will be my first time with both of them alone for the whole weekend. Nervous? That's an understatement. My plan is to have a playdate with Ella for Ian one day. She has this new play kitchen that Ian just has to check out! I was at her house last weekend - we had a little meet n' greet for Ava and Milo with our girlfriends. Ella was so excited to hold Milo. He wasn't sure about it at first, but then he calmed down once he realized I wasn't going anywhere. I think he is going to be a Mama's boy!
It is football season! We are so excited to watch the Packers this season. They are looking really good so far. I got Ian a Packer uniform. It was in the One Step Ahead catalog as a Halloween costume and once I saw it I had to have it. But not as a costume, this is official game day gear in our house! Go Pack Go! I found the Packer hat my Mom knit for Ian when he was a baby so we tried it on Milo. Once Ian saw Milo with his on, he went running through the house to find his helmet. I wanted to get a picture of them in their full outfits, but I am going to have to keep trying for that one. I love my little Packer Backers!
On our way home the other night Ian saw the loaders down the street from our house. He got so excited and asked if we could go see them. Milo was asleep so I put him in the stroller and we walked down. Ian was in heaven! He walked around them, inspected all their parts and pointed them out to me. He stood next to the loader and said, "Take my picture, Mommy." It was so cute. This little guy LOVES his construction equipment. He looked up at me at one point and said, "One day I am going to drive that." It was such a decisive statement. I love how it is truly the simple things in life that can make a kids' day. It wasn't easy, but eventually I was able to pull him away so we could get home and start making dinner. As soon as Casey got home Ian had to tell him all about our trip to see the loaders.
We have two exciting visits coming up. One week from today, my dear friend Michelle is visiting from Pittsburgh. I am SO excited to see her. It has been over a year since I saw her last. I am definitely in need of some quality girl time. I cannot wait!! Then Grandma Jane and Grandpa Bob are coming the next week. I am so happy they are coming back so soon. Bob's daughter is turning 50 so they are going to Breckenridge to help her celebrate. I told Ian they were coming to visit when I picked him up from daycare yesterday. Not much was mentioned about it, actually I wasn't even sure he heard me. But last night when Casey walked in the door he ran up to him and said, "Grandpa Andrews is coming to visit!" I laughed so hard. Casey looked confused and I told Ian that it was Grandpa Bob that was coming to visit. He turned to Casey and said, "Other Grandpa is coming to visit!" Jumping up and down with excitement!
