Casey's work schedule is quite demanding at the moment. I am finding myself rather busy with my two little men. Ian continues to go to daycare, which is helpful. Milo and I fill our days with several activities - mostly feedings and diaper changes:)
I pick Ian up at Lily's and have discovered it is best to take him somewhere so he can run around and burn off some energy. We have been a fan of the Vance Brand Airport in Longmont for some time, but now I think we could be considered groupies. We go there almost everyday after I pick him up to watch the planes and skydivers. He loves it and so do I actually. Milo is usually sleeping peacefully in his car seat so we can get some one on one time, which I think is rather important for this big brother right now. He also loves to watch the planes fly in and fill up with fuel. Last week he even got to check out the inside of one of the pilot's planes when he went with Casey. So cool!
Last weekend was gorgeous. I think they said on the news that this is the third warmest September on record. It has been wonderful! Longmont was hosting their annual Oktoberfest in Roosevelt Park so we decided to check it out. Fun music, good food and beer! I had my first beer in a long time and it was delicious:) They had fun activities to entertain the kids. Fortunately Ian loves music and dancing so we spent most of our time close to the stage. We even got to dance to a cover of Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer" - awesome indeed. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed just hanging out as a family. Milo was chill, taking it all in.
This past week was my friend Kate's birthday. We decided that some shopping was in order to celebrate so we headed to the Flatirons Mall with babies in tow. We wanted to act like stay-at-home moms for a day. Livin' the dream! We had a blast and the babes were wonderful. Thankfully Nordstrom has a Mother's Lounge so nursing was fairly easy. I love this picture because it looks like Milo and Ava are having a conversation with their eyes. Aren't they the cutest?!
Today was the Fire Muster in Longmont. It was so cool! Literally. We woke up and it was drizzling, foggy and chilly. We layered up and hit the road. Ian LOVED it and Milo slept through it. Seeing the excitement in his eyes was worth the cold drizzle. He was so thrilled - shouting "The fire trucks are coming to see us" as they paraded down Main St. After the parade, everyone gathered at Roosevelt Park where they had various demonstrations and the fire trucks on display for the kids to roam around on. Ian was in heaven - along with every other little boy in Longmont (and some girls too). Ian got to spray a fire hose and became a Fire Chief after rescuing the puppy. We stayed for most of the morning, but once it started raining harder we decided it was time to head home and get some naps.
