Like Father...
Okay, so not quite. The above picture is Casey at our last Easter in Door County. We always had these grand parties at Kyle's cottage. It was an all day affair - complete with adult easter egg hunt. Such fond memories! Casey decided to go out with a bang and rented a bunny costume. It was hilarious - we were all gathered outside prepping for the hunt when out from the woods jumps a bunny. It took everyone a few minutes to figure out who it could be! We learned yesterday that the cottage has sold. It's sad, but at least we have great memories from all of our time spent there. Ian was so excited to wake up this morning and see what the Easter Bunny brought for him! Ian laid in bed with us for a few minutes and I asked him if he had any dreams last night. He looked at me and smiled, then said "Easter Bunny!" How cute. He hurried us up so he could get downstairs and find his surprises...
He was most psyched about his motorcycle - he is so happy to have his own! He rode it almost all day long. He got several other goodies as well...sidewalk chalk, rainforest animals, dinosaurs, books, bubbles and a DVD about becoming a big brother. The only candy we tucked into his basket was a bunny PEZ dispenser. Little did we know he would have a whole roll devoured by 10 AM! Casey and I did a lot of prep work the night before, but we had a lot to finish up before the Courtney family and Amy arrived. We enjoyed a lovely brunch - donuts, sausages, frittata, orange walnut muffins, ham and swiss puffs, fruit, and potato casserole. It was delicious! I also made a blood orange punch to wash it all down. We enjoyed our feast before heading to the backyard for the easter egg hunt. The kids had so much fun searching for eggs stuffed with candy and stickers, some even had dinosaurs in them! Ian was all about throwing them in his basket, while Ella took the more laid back approach of enjoying her treats as she collected them:) Either way, the sun was shining and we all had a blast.
