Last minute fun in Colorado

For most of you who read this blog, this will all be old news.  However, in an effort to keep me honest and on my toes in 2013 I am going to post it anyway!

This last month or so has been an absolute whirlwind.  To say I am exhausted would be an understatement, but like I said in my previous post...it is all good, so no complaints here:)

On April 18th, I accepted a position with HELP of Door County.  I will be their Adult Advocate and am very excited about this new opportunity.  Once we knew I had a job, it was time to kick our plans into high gear and enjoy our last few days in Colorado.

Maggie and John treated us to a Rockies game - always a good time!  It was Milo's first game and he did great.  John surprised us with Club Level seats; which turned out to be great because Milo and Ian had plenty of room to run around without bothering anyone else.  It was a nice day - a bit chilly at times, but no one seemed to mind.

 A great group shot!
Waving goodbye to Dinger

The following weekend we hit up the Denver Zoo.  We were supposed to go earlier in the month, but then Maggie and I had our impromptu road trip and we decided to hold off.  It was a gorgeous day!  So warm and sunny with a lot of activity from the animals.  The crowd was insane - thankfully we had advance tickets and could walk right in.

Daddy's shoulders - the best way to travel for sure.
A fish face-off.  This picture cracks me up!
Milo shouted "Look, it's finding Nemo!" when he saw this.  So cute!

Ian still loves the giraffes and Milo was blown away seeing one close up.
 Peek-a-boo!
Not so sure about this carousel ride...
but better once I hopped on with him:)
 I love sea horses!
My little monkey admiring the monkeys.
Wiped out!  He was asleep before we even got out of the zoo parking lot.

Ian's last day of school was April 30th.  It was a great last day because it coincided with the Sunflower Farm field trip.  I brought Milo along with us this year and he had a blast.  I underestimated how hard it would be to keep track of both of them though!  Thankfully there were plenty of parents there that kept an eye out on Ian while he ran around with his friends one last time.  We were blessed with another beautiful day too!
So neat to see this peacock up close.
 Gobble, gobble
Milo thought the extra large Legos were pretty cool!  They were next to the line for the zip line.  Milo went for the first time - I was so nervous for him, but he did great...and even went for a second and third run!  I did get a video on my phone, but I can't figure out how to convert videos from my phone onto the computer.  Someday...
Milo thought it was pretty neat to have a goat eat out of his hand.  He just laughed and laughed.  Adorable!

It is no surprise that the swing was Milo's favorite.  This swing is awesome too - I imagine it to be like flying.  Wish I could fit in it!
Milo wanted to give the bridge a try.  After all, the big kids were doing it.  He panicked once he got up there though and Miles' Dad came to the rescue.  Whew!
He fell in love with the silo - said he "had to go to work."
I couldn't get Milo to look at me, but I really wanted to get a picture of him on this red tractor.  I have a picture of Ian on the red tractor when he was about the same age.  I guess I should just be happy that he sat on it long enough for me to snap a photo.
Miles and Ian had a blast swinging in the hammock.  I wish I had a recording of the giggles - the best!
Ian and Cruz just a swingin'
The big kids let Milo join in on the hammock fun and he was pleased as punch!
The field trip had the M/W/F and T/R classes combined.  I was amazed they were able to rally all the kids for one group shot.  What a great group of kids!
Me and my boys.  What a lovely day we had!

One of our last surprises came on our last day in Colorado.  John drove his Model A up to our house and surprised the boys with rides.  What fun!

We have been so blessed with the friends we met in Colorado.  Many of them became our family and will hopefully be in our lives for many years to come!  We know that this move is going to be great for our family, but it doesn't make saying goodbye any easier.
