Halloween Fun

The Courtney girls came over last weekend to decorate cupcakes for Halloween.  The kids had a blast decorating their own and sneaking in huge handfuls of sprinkles when we weren't looking.  Ha!  Kate and I can't judge because we were too busy taking turns going into the kitchen to "refill the icing".

Later that night, the Halloween celebration continued with pumpkin carving.  Daddy busted out the hand saw to bust it open.  We decided to get a large pumpkin for the family and then use the two smaller pumpkins that we got at Miller Farms for the boys.

Ian decided to kick it ol' school and bust out the Mr. Potato Head pirate pieces.

Milo got a little help from Daddy with his pumpkin.

Ian helped me carve the large family pumpkin - selecting the eye, nose, and mouth shapes.  You can't tell it in this picture, but we used toothpicks to give him sharp teeth.

Sunday morning we met my brother and his family at the park.  It was a gorgeous fall day!

We found out a few weeks ago that Peyton is going to be a big sister!!  But it wasn't until this week that we learned she is going to have a baby...sister.  I am so excited to have two little nieces.

Monday was a big day in our house.  It was the preschool trip to the fire station.  It was another great fall day!  Milo got to tag along with us and it totally made his day.  He loves dropping Ian off at school.  He struts right in and makes himself welcome.  He stands in line to wash his hands and gets chatty with all his classmates.  It really is hilarious to watch!

I can't believe Milo is going to be in preschool next year.  That is a hard pill for me to swallow.  He's my baby!  There were other siblings that came along, but Milo was the only one to jump into the circle with all the other kids.  He snuggled up to Ian and Ian wrapped his arms around him, so sweet!

The trip to the fire station was everything Ian had anticipated and more.  Oh my goodness!  It was so cool and he hung onto every word.  Milo didn't last too long.  Thankfully Casey was able to swing by and pick him up so he could get his nap.

I LOVE this picture.  I smell a yearbook "guess who" photo!

Ian's class with the firemen Dave's (3 out of the 4 firemen at the station that day were named Dave and the other one calls himself Not Dave - lol!).

Ian's favorite - the toolbox at the front of the truck!

Best.day.ever.
Fireman Dave commented on Ian's shirt and called him Captain the rest of the day.  Ha!

The 2012 ACFCCA graduating class.
They are the first class to have all apprentices pass their culinary practical exam.

Monday night was a big night in the Andrews house.  Casey graduated!  For the last two years, he drove to Denver every Wednesday evening to take part in the ACFCCA Apprenticeship program.

Congrats, babe!  I am proud of you.

Milo is getting so big!  I feel so blessed to have this additional time with him right now.  Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday we get a little Mommy + Milo time and it is great.  My new favorite thing to do is have a little chat with him before he takes a nap.  He is getting more and more verbal each day, which makes it so much fun!  He also gets a huge kick out of sleeping in his big brother's bed on these days.  Wednesday he wouldn't go to sleep until he had his buddies with him, Yoda + Darth.  So stinkin' cute!!
