A little of this, a lot of that.

Here it is again - almost another full month since I last wrote a post.  Apparently, I had more time on my hands when I was working FT.  Ha!  We survived July and August crept up on us way too fast.  I can't believe school is in session and Labor Day is around the corner.  I always get very excited this time of year - fall is around the corner and I can not wait!  And neither can these two cuties...

So much has happened in the last few weeks, I am not even sure where to start exactly.  We had the first of our summer birthday parties at the end of July.  Ella turned 4 and Ava will turn 2 on Thursday.  Her smart mama hosted a joint birthday bash as Bounce Town and it was awesome!  The kids had so much fun bouncin' around and it was perfect for the wee ones too.

Grandma and Grandpa Schneider arrived on August 1st.  We were so excited to see them.  It had been almost 7 months since we saw them last, which is too long in my opinion!  Ian and Milo were so excited to see them.  Grandma went with me to pick them up at Lily's - Lily couldn't get that door open fast enough, they were shouting and jumping up and down.  My Mom's heart was beaming with joy I am sure.  I love parenthood, but damn.  Grand-parenthood must rock!

Next up was Milo.  He turned 2 on August 5th.  I love that my Mom has been able to be at each of  my kid's parties.  Her cakes are delicious (and free for me!), her help is greatly appreciated, and it is just wonderful.  It just so happened that our Door County vacation coincided with their summer visit this year, so our time together was limited.  We tried to make the most of it!

We threw a pirate bash for Mr. Milo and it was a blast.  Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of all the good stuff (table setting, cupcakes, party favors).  Well, I do have them - they are just on my in-laws computer in Wisconsin.  Oops.  Thankfully my friends got some good ones!

Yeah, yeah...wish, smish, I want my cupcake!

I love the 'lil scullywag in the background of this photo.  Ha!

Ella looking super sweet:)

Ian practicing his "arrrrgh"!

The silly birthday boy and his partner in crime.  These two crack me up!

Love.

Sadly, we woke up in the wee hours of Sunday to find Milo had puked all over himself and his bedding.  Poor guy!  We got him cleaned up and put him back to bed after a rest on the couch with Daddy.  Only to have him puke again once he was in bed.  Now it was poor Mommy, one round of vomit was enough.  But that was it, then it was over and done with (thankfully!).  It never fails - someone in our family gets sick or injured right before any trip.  It is weird.  He was fine the next day and carried on like the spunky little man we know and love, so off to Wisconsin it was!

But not without celebrating Milo's actual birthday.  Milo and Ian got name pancakes courtesy of Daddy.  This made for a couple of happy little boys.

But then it was time to pack.  We packed, packed, and packed some more.  I am blessed with a hubby who LOVES road trips.  He is on it and that is a load off my plate.  I just make sure to have the master list and pack my stuff + the boys stuff.  Done and done.  By bedtime, we were locked and loaded.  Ready to set sail by 5 AM on Monday.  It was like Christmas Eve, nervous and excited bundled into one!
